Yaz Naji didn't take a straight path into recruiting. Before VOLT, he spent time embedded in the trades world — on job sites, in dispatch rooms, in break rooms where foremen complained about the same thing over and over: good workers are impossible to find, and the people supposed to find them don't understand the work.
That observation became an obsession. Every placement agency he encountered treated skilled trades like an afterthought — generic job boards, offshore screening, cookie-cutter pitches to every contractor in town. Nobody was doing the slow, difficult work of actually knowing the trades.
VOLT was founded on a single conviction: that a recruiter who speaks the language — who knows the difference between an apprentice and a journeyman, who understands the culture of a job site, who respects the dignity of skilled labor — can do more in 48 hours than a big agency can do in two weeks.
